The Center for Grieving Children offers an accepting environment where children, teens and families in the Fox Valley can be with others who are grieving the death of a loved one. The Center offers peer support and education, as well as opportunities to remember and commemorate. There is no cost for services.

Programs

FAMILY NIGHT - The Center conducts an evening program once each month, for families with children 3 – 18, consisting of a meal, small and large group activates for various ages. Support groups are facilitated by trained volunteers. Click the link to find out more.

TEEN GROUP – ‘Teens only’ grief support group meets on a weekly basis for teens, ages 13- 18, who a dealing with grief. This group is facilitated by 2 Lawrence University interns and the center Director. Click the link to find out more.

NEWSLETTER – A monthly newsletter of family night activities and community resources for grieving families is available on line or through e-mail.

OUTREACH - Educational resources about children and teen grief are available through our lending library of books, manuals, and handouts.

The Center facilitates healing, removes isolation and builds a sense of hope.
